Announcing BROOKLYN BRAIN FRAME
BRAIN FRAME, the performative comix reading series (and Chicago’s most valuable export) is coming to New York. Watch six artists from around the country mount the pulpit to interpret their comics and zines with maximum force. Musical histories, landscape gifs, a UFO puppet, photos of forgotten females, horror crystals, and a vajazzling cat are just are few of the many splendors on imminent display. Laugh, cry, sit back, and relax // expanded comix // expanded minds.
Featuring:
Ben Bertin
Tom Blunt
Matt Carman
Ayun Halliday
Lyra Hill
Andy Gabrysiak
Caroline Paquita
and a joint reading from Yumi Sakugawa and Kelsey Short
With live synthesizer soundscapes by Tyson Torstenson
At Public Assembly, 70 North 6th St, Brooklyn. Doors at 7:00, 21+, FREE.
Brooklyn Brain Frame is organized in association with the 2nd annual Brooklyn Zine Fest. Come by between 11am and 6pm to browse wares and meet the night’s performers, then come back at 7 to watch the fireworks.Poster by Yumi Sakugawa.
